How do we register?

Newly established organisations (established after 16 October 2014) cannot legally fundraise or operate as a charity until they are registered on the Register of Charities.

In order to submit an application for inclusion on the Register of Charities you must follow these steps:

  1. Apply online for a charity account with us.
  2. Once you receive your PIN number from us (by post), create your charity account online.
  3. Log in to your charity account, fill out the information regarding your organisation and submit your application.

Staff at the Charities Regulator will assess your application for charitable status and they will be in touch if they require any further information from you.

You will receive an official letter from the Charities Regulator once a decision on your application for charitable status has been made.

Please note that due to the high volume of applications this process may take some time/up to six months.
